About the 2007 French Brandy Finish

Built in 1881, beside the mouth of the river – or ‘Bunnahabhain’ in Scots Gaelic – our distillery is the most northerly on Islay and still one of the most remote. Ever since then we’ve traded with our European neighbours, shipping out casks of our liquid gold and bringing home new casks teeming with possibilities.

This limited release owes its origins to this time-honoured tradition. After 8 years maturing in the cool darkness of our coastal warehouse, this exceptional malt was selected for a two and a half year finish in French Brandy butts. The result is an elegant, fruity dram with hints of chestnut, grape and salted caramel.
