Earlier this year our parent company, Distell Ltd, announced plans for a major refurbishment of our beloved distillery.

Whilst we love our rustic charm and know that you do too, a little TLC never hurt!

The plans include improvements to the distillery access road, which is currently single track and used by visitors, delivery trucks and sheep alike. A few more passing bays will ease some of the high season congestion, without detracting from the experience of making that Bunnahabhain Pilgrimage.

The team will also replace some deteriorating warehouse buildings. The coastal sea breeze plays an important part in the final character of our single malts, making our ability to store our casks and mature our whiskies in our on-site warehousing critical.

In addition to this, there are plans to create new experiences for our visitors, from a new Visitor Centre, and renovation of our cottages for overnight rentals, to a possible upgrade of the famous Bunnahabhain pier.

We’ll have more details and an artist impression very soon, so keep an eye on our Noticeboard or Follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to be kept up to date.
