12 Year Old Cask Strength: 2026 Edition

Our 12 Year Old Cask Strength release offers a different perspective on our sherried Bunnahabhain house style. The 2026 edition celebrates our signature unpeated Islay single malt in a bolder, more concentrated form, bringing the character of our spirit and the influence of the cask into focus. Rich in fruit, gentle spice and coastal character, our unpeated spirit offers a distinctive take on Islay single malt, with richness and complexity that never need to be overpowering.

The 2026 edition is matured in equal parts of first-fill Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon casks, bringing two distinct influences together. The Oloroso brings classic sherry richness, while the Bourbon American oak softens the sherry strucutre. Of all our previous releases, this edition is most similar to the much-loved 2023 Cask Strength, which also featured an equal split of first-fill Oloroso and refill casks. The 2026 release builds on that bold, cask-driven style, with bourbon casks bringing a brighter sweetness and creamier texture to the sherry-led profile.
