WHISKY CHARACTERISTICS

ABOUT

A deeply refined single cask distillery exclusive, this 1999 vintage pairs mature Bunnahabhain spirit with the complexity of Amontillado. Bottled at cask strength and hand-filled, it offers a rare chance to experience our Warehouse 9 Tasting from afar.

MATURATION JOURNEY

After decades of slow, measured ageing, this single malt was transferred into an exceptional Amontillado cask - Cask No.2 - for its final phase of maturation. Amontillado's gently oxidative style layers nuanced notes of nuts, polished oak and warm spice over the soft sweetness of aged sprit. The result is a whisky enriched by time twice over: first by long, slow maturation, then by a finishing cask chosen for precision and poise. Drawn directly from the wood in Warehouse 9 and hand-bottled without filtration or dilution.

WHERE UNIQUE MEETS EXCEPTIONAL

UNPEATED ISLAY

UNPEATED ISLAY

Unlike the other distilleries on Islay, Bunnahabhain is known for its signature unpeated Single Malt Whisky.

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

Situated on the Sound of Islay, Bunnahabhain is the most northerly distillery, only accessible by boat until 1960. Now by single track road, it is an adventure for whisky enthusiasts.

TALLEST ON ISLAY

TALLEST ON ISLAY

Bunnahabhain's pot stills are the tallest on Islay. Their unusually long swan necks promote a lighter delicate spirit character as heavier flavour compounds can't reach the summit.

UNCOMPROMISING CHARACTER

UNCOMPROMISING CHARACTER

Non-chill filtered and with no added colour, Bunnahabhain is a robust, oily spirit that stands up to full maturation in sherry and bottlings at cask strength.
