Unlike other distilleries on Islay, Bunnahabhain is known for its iconic, unpeated Islay Single Malt Whisky.
Situated on the Sound of Islay, Bunnahabhain is the most northerly distillery, only accessible by boat until 1960. Now by single track road, it is an adventure for whisky enthusiasts.
Bunnahabhain's pear-shaped stills are the tallest on Islay. Their unusually long swan necks promote a lighter, delicate spirit character as heavier flavour compounds can't reach the summit.
Non-chill filtered with no added colour, Bunnahabhain is a robust, oily spirit that stands up to full maturation in sherry and bottlings at cask strength.

"Complex flavor profile of caramel, dried fruit, and nuts kissed by the briney sea. Complexity increases further with a few drops of water to reveal dried banana chips and cashews. Some delicate floral and vanilla notes. Great oily character. Note that this is an unpeated whiskey so there is no peat smoke character."

"This good value dram dances on the tongue with little velvet clogs on, and is a great staple of any whisky cabinet/shelf. all from a distillery you can trust."

"I found this to be a harsh tasting whisky. I bought it because i liked the price point. Don't repeat my mistake, buy the Bunnahabhain 12 Yo instead and which is a superb whisky."
