Single Cask Release - Rare 1989 Tawny Port Cask Finish

Fruity, Creamy, Unpeated
ABV 46.4%
Limited Edition
American Oak and Tawny Port Casks

Only available at our distillery, this single cask release was specially hand selected by our Master Blender. Limited to only 270 bottles and bottled at a cask strength of 46.4% ABV, this is the first of a limited series of rare single cask releases.

Distilled on the 18th of December 1989, this single cask first developed its character in an American Oak cask (Cask 1894) before being finished in the finest hand selected Portuguese Tawny Port cask. With similar characteristics to sherry, the Tawny Port cask complements our Bunnahabhain spirit beautifully.

WHERE UNIQUE MEETS EXCEPTIONAL

UNPEATED ISLAY

UNPEATED ISLAY

Unlike other distilleries on Islay, Bunnahabhain is known for its iconic, unpeated Islay Single Malt Whisky.

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

Situated on the Sound of Islay, Bunnahabhain is the most northerly distillery, only accessible by boat until 1960. Now by single track road, it is an adventure for whisky enthusiats.

TALLEST ON ISLAY

TALLEST ON ISLAY

Bunnahabhain's pear-shaped stills are the tallest on Islay. Their unusually long swan necks promote a lighter, delicate spirit character as heavier flavour compounds can't reach the summit.

UNCOMPROMISING SPIRIT

UNCOMPROMISING SPIRIT

Non-chill filtered with no added colour, Bunnahabhain is a robust, oily spirit that stands up to full maturation in sherry and bottlings at cask strength.
