ABOUT

An Cladach {Uhn Klah-dah} - meaning ‘The Shore’ in Scots Gaelic - is inspired by the meeting point between land and sea, where Bunnahabhain’s spirit draws much of its quiet character. Here, the movement of the tide and the softness of the coastal air shape a whisky that is both gentle and complex. This expression reflects the distillery’s unpeated style at its most classic - elegant, maritime and subtly layered. It speaks to moments spent by the water’s edge, where time slows and the influence of the sea is ever-present, carried on the breeze and woven into the spirit itself.

MATURATION JOURNEY

Crafted from a selection of casks chosen to enhance the distillery’s naturally coastal and unpeated spirit, An Cladach balances softness with subtle complexity. Sherry casks lend layers of dried fruit, gentle spice and nutty depth, while bourbon casks introduce notes of creamy vanilla, soft oak and a subtle sweetness that lifts and brightens the profile. Together, they create a whisky of balance and clarity—where richness is tempered by freshness, and each influence allows the maritime character to remain at the fore.

TASTE

Waves of creamy malt, gentle citrus and sea salt unfold. There’s a quiet warmth beneath it - honeyed sweetness and light spice - carried on a coastal breeze that lingers delicately, leaving a finish that is clean, calming and unmistakably maritime.

This single malt take the senses on a long and exciting journey. Scents of caramel and vanilla prepare the palate for sweet sherry, spice and nuts which then blossom into a long, rich dried fruity finish.

UNPEATED ISLAY

UNPEATED ISLAY

Unlike other distilleries on Islay, Bunnahabhain is known for its iconic, unpeated Islay Single Malt Whisky.

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

Situated on the Sound of Islay, Bunnahabhain is the most northerly distillery, only accessible by boat until 1960. Now by single track road, it is an adventure for whisky enthusiasts.

TALLEST ON ISLAY

TALLEST ON ISLAY

Bunnahabhain's pear-shaped stills are the tallest on Islay. Their unusually long swan necks promote a lighter, delicate spirit character as heavier flavour compounds can't reach the summit.

UNCOMPROMISING SPIRIT

UNCOMPROMISING SPIRIT

Non-chill filtered with no added colour, Bunnahabhain is a robust, oily spirit that stands up to full maturation in sherry and bottlings at cask strength.
