Unlike other distilleries on Islay, Bunnahabhain is known for its iconic, unpeated Islay Single Malt Whisky.
Situated on the Sound of Islay, Bunnahabhain is the most northerly distillery, only accessible by boat until 1960. Now by single track road, it is an adventure for whisky enthusiasts.
Bunnahabhain's pear-shaped stills are the tallest on Islay. Their unusually long swan necks promote a lighter, delicate spirit character as heavier flavour compounds can't reach the summit.
Non-chill filtered with no added colour, Bunnahabhain is a robust, oily spirit that stands up to full maturation in sherry and bottlings at cask strength.

"Distinct pear notes on the nose; pleasant sweetness—not overpowering, yet present. On the palate, a breadth of green fruit flavors unfolds, accompanied by a subtle, salty hint of the sea. The finish is buttery-smooth, with notes of citrus fruit and marzipan."

"This tastes very similar to the 2019 fino cask i tried at the warehouse 9 tasting earlier this year- regretted not getting a full bottle of it. Dry, Viscous, oily, intense. Mists over immediately on addition of water. Young, but in the best way- it's bright and lively. Really lovely."
