MATURATION JOURNEY
The journey begins in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks, each selected to bring a different dimension to the spirit. Ex-Bourbon casks contribute notes of vanilla, orchard fruit and gentle sweetness, while ex-Sherry casks introduce layers of dried fruit, toasted nuts and warming spice. Together, they create the balance that has become synonymous with Bunnahabhain - allowing the character of the spirit to shine while building depth, complexity and a remarkably smooth finish.

Unlike other distilleries on Islay, Bunnahabhain is known for its iconic, unpeated Islay Single Malt Whisky.
A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED
Situated on the Sound of Islay, Bunnahabhain is the most northerly distillery, only accessible by boat until 1960. Now by single track road, it is an adventure for whisky enthusiasts.
TALLEST ON ISLAY
Bunnahabhain's pear-shaped stills are the tallest on Islay. Their unusually long swan necks promote a lighter, delicate spirit character as heavier flavour compounds can't reach the summit.
UNCOMPROMISING SPIRIT
Non-chill filtered with no added colour, Bunnahabhain is a robust, oily spirit that stands up to full maturation in sherry and bottlings at cask strength.
Our whisky is known for being unpeated, natural colour and non-chillfiltered.
