Fèis Ìle 2024: 19 Year Old Mòine Madeira Cask Finish
At Bunnahabhain we have become renowned for our unpeated, classically sherried single malts, but occasionally we like to try something a little unexpected, and this sensational smoky dram is just that. This 19 Year Old Mòine (meaning peat in Gaelic) was distilled on the 10th of December 2004 and rested in Bourbon casks for before being transferred into the finest Madeira Hogsheads on the 7th of June 2016 to finish in Warehouse 8 at Bunnahabhain.
Bottled at 51.2% ABV, this perfectly balanced combination of deep peppery peat smoke and rich, sweet Madeira wine casks delivers notes of stewed fruits and nuts at the forefront with a lingering tail of smoke.
"An exquisite dram, reminiscent of the finest rum and raisin artisan ice cream." - Andrew Brown, Distillery Manager
