ABOUT

Set sail on the first chapter of our Westering Home Collection with 'Turas Math' - Scots Gaelic for the beginning of the journey. This expression marks the commencement of a voyage filled with hope, discovery, and the warmth of returning home. Inspired by the rhythm of the sea, our whisky journey begins with carefully selected Scottish barley, pure Margadale Spring water, and exceptional casks sourced from the historic sherry region of Jerez, Spain. Slowly matured on Islay’s rugged coast, each drop is shaped by the elements - sea breeze, time, and tradition. A celebration of heritage, community, and connection, Turas Math signals the start of a three-part annual series that honours our roots and the path that leads us back to Bunnahabhain.

MATURATION JOURNEY

Beginning its life in the finest American oak ex-bourbon barrels, this spirit embarked on a new journey, spending a year in casks from the historic sherry region of Jerez, Spain. Rare Palo Cortado hogsheads were selected as a finishing partner, delivering a single malt that skilfully harmonises the rich warmth of American oak with the complexity and elegance of Palo Cortado sherry. Hand-picked by Master Blender Julieann Fernandez, this expression is the result of a flavour journey shaped by the sea. Matured in carefully chosen casks on the shores of Bunnahabhain, the whisky was brought together in perfect harmony, revealing layers of depth, character and refined coastal charm.

WHERE UNIQUE MEETS EXCEPTIONAL

UNPEATED ISLAY

UNPEATED ISLAY

Unlike other distilleries on Islay, Bunnahabhain is known for its iconic, unpeated Islay Single Malt Whisky.

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

Situated on the Sound of Islay, Bunnahabhain is the most northerly distillery, only accessible by boat until 1960. Now by single track road, it is an adventure for whisky enthusiasts.

TALLEST ON ISLAY

TALLEST ON ISLAY

Bunnahabhain's pear-shaped stills are the tallest on Islay. Their unusually long swan necks promote a lighter, delicate spirit character as heavier flavour compounds can't reach the summit.

UNCOMPROMISING SPIRIT

UNCOMPROMISING SPIRIT

Non-chill filtered with no added colour, Bunnahabhain is a robust, oily spirit that stands up to full maturation in sherry and bottlings at cask strength.
