ABOUT

Turas Math, meaning the beginning of the journey in Scots Gaelic, introduces our Westering Home Collection - a tribute to the spirit of exploration and return. Each release in this three-year series reflects a shared love of community, place, and the enduring pull of home. This inaugural edition starts, like all great voyages, with thoughtful preparation: the finest barley from Scotland, water drawn from the Margadale Spring, and a distinguished single cask from the Armagnac region of Gascony, southwest France. Left to mature beside the Sound of Islay, these elements evolve slowly under the influence of our coastal climate. From first step to final sip, this is a journey shaped by tradition, nature, and time.

MATURATION JOURNEY

Distilled on the 9th of March 2005, this distillery exclusive dram slumbered in oak casks before setting sail on a finishing journey in a hand-selected single cask from the Armagnac region of Gascony, southwestern France. Finishing in the finest French oak gives this 19 Year Old single malt, bottled in 2024, a beautifully complex character, with layers of dried fruits, vanilla, caramel and delicate spice. Chosen with precision by Master Blender Julieann Fernandez, the Armagnac cask for this limited release was selected to capture the spirit of discovery. Aged by the ocean, it delivers a rich and balanced whisky that reflects both the influence of the coast and the craft of expert maturation.

WHERE UNIQUE MEETS EXCEPTIONAL

UNPEATED ISLAY

UNPEATED ISLAY

Unlike other distilleries on Islay, Bunnahabhain is known for its iconic, unpeated Islay Single Malt Whisky.

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED

Situated on the Sound of Islay, Bunnahabhain is the most northerly distillery, only accessible by boat until 1960. Now by single track road, it is an adventure for whisky enthusiasts.

TALLEST ON ISLAY

TALLEST ON ISLAY

Bunnahabhain's pear-shaped stills are the tallest on Islay. Their unusually long swan necks promote a lighter, delicate spirit character as heavier flavour compounds can't reach the summit.

UNCOMPROMISING SPIRIT

UNCOMPROMISING SPIRIT

Non-chill filtered with no added colour, Bunnahabhain is a robust, oily spirit that stands up to full maturation in sherry and bottlings at Cask Strength.
