WHISKY-EIGENSCHAFTEN

ÜBER

Ceithir Ginealaich {Kay-hir Geen-ya-lee-ch}, meaning “Four Generations” in Scots Gaelic, was crafted to honour 40 years of Fèis Ìle - four decades of stories shared, friendships formed and journeys made to Islay’s shores. This commemorative expression brings together four hand-selected casks, each representing a different decade in the festival’s history. Distinct in character yet united in purpose, each cask contributes its own layer to the whisky - reflecting the people, moments and memories that have shaped Fèis Ìle over time. Like the festival itself, Ceithir Ginealaich is a coming together - of generations, of stories, and of a shared love for Islay and its spirit. A whisky crafted not only to celebrate the past 40 years, but the connections that continue to carry the festival forward.

REIFUNGSREISE

Ceithir Ginealaich is a marriage of four heritage casks, each selected to represent a chapter in Fèis Ìle’s 40 year journey and to bring its own distinctive influence to the final spirit. A 1989 second fill Canasta Butt contributes gentle sweetness and balance, layering soft toffee, dried fruit and delicate nuttiness while allowing Bunnahabhain’s coastal character to remain present throughout. A 1997 first fill Oloroso Hogshead adds depth and structure, introducing notes of walnuts, dried orange peel and warming spice. Its strong sherry influence anchors the whisky with richness and complexity. 2005 Port finished stock brings a vibrant layer of red fruit character - raspberry, cherry and plum - adding brightness and subtle acidity that lifts the palate and finish. Finally, fully matured 2017 Virgin Oak casks provide texture and warmth, delivering notes of vanilla, toasted sugars, coconut and clove while enhancing mouthfeel and spice-driven complexity. Together, the style of these four casks creates a whisky of remarkable balance and character - each influence distinct, yet working in harmony as part of a greater whole.
